Hi, I’m Matisyn — the girl behind the camera at
Matisyn Taitt Photography.
I’m based on Oʻahu but spend a lot of time traveling between the islands capturing love stories, families, and the little in-between moments that often end up meaning the most. My style leans documentary — less stiff posing, more real life.
A SNEAK PEEK INTO MY DAILY LIFE
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me with my daughter Esther. She’s my little bestie, and we spend most of our days together while my husband Jonah is at work. Esther and I love exploring coffee shops, meeting up with friends, and spending our weekends at the beach whenever we can.
Life is pretty simple and sweet around here — and honestly, that’s a big part of why I photograph the way I do. I’m drawn to the quiet, meaningful moments that might seem small now but end up being the ones you treasure later.
Why I started photography
One of my favorite things about photography is getting to meet people from all over the world. I love hearing their stories, learning about their lives, and often walking away with new friends.
Being trusted to capture such meaningful seasons — engagements, growing families, quiet moments of love — is something I never take lightly. It’s so special to me that I get to preserve these memories for people.
What its like working with me
I want our time together to feel easy and natural — like you’re hanging out with a friend who just happens to have a camera.
You don’t need to worry about being “good in photos.” I’ll gently guide you when needed, but mostly I’ll let things unfold naturally so your photos feel like you. The laughs, the movement, the real connection.
My goal is that by the end of our session, you walk away not only with photos you love — but feeling like you’ve gained a friend.
